Wilson Pest Control is proud to introduce a new service to our communities--Dust Mite Clinic. With technology advancing so rapidly over the past 10 to 15 years, we are now able to eliminate Dust Mites from the areas that they effect us the most. Our beds, where we spend 1/3 of our lives, can now be treated effectively for these pests as well as all the other micro-organisms we come in contact with while we sleep. This treatment is not a chemical treatment, but it is a procedure using UV-C lights, high-frequency pulsating waves and powerful suction to destroy and remove the allergy-related enemy.
Bio-pollutants include dog and cat dander, dust mites and cockroach allergens. These indoor pollutants act as triggers for asthma and other respiratory ailments. Over 40 million Americans suffer from allergies due to these pollutants. Children are the most at risk, as their lungs are still in the developmental stage. The common dust mite (pictured left) is the No.1 allergen source. Dust mites are microscopic, eight-legged arachnids (not insects) 0.3mm in length. They are invisible to the human eye, so small they can crawl through the weave of bedding fabrics. Key Benefits*Patented system eliminates dust mites from mattresses *Cleans and sanitizes mattresses *Provides allergy relief
UV-C Light - Independent Research DataFor years, scientists have known that one of the most effective air purifiers is natural sunlight Not the light we see when we look out the window, but the invisible "C" brand, ultraviolet rays that make up part of the suns light spectrum. The sun’s UV-C rays act as a natural outdoor air purification system, inhibiting the growth and reproduction of dust mites, bacteria, viruses, fungi and molds. However, this natural process does not occur indoors, but the man made UV-C lights will bring that purification power indoors to us. According to the EPA, the CDS (Center for Disease Control) and the Institute for Clean Air, our mattresses that we sleep on every night is a natural breeding ground for dust mites and other forms of bacteria. What is UV-C light? UV-C light is germicidal, it deactivates the DNA of dust mites, bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, UV-C light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. The formation of such bonds prevent the DNA from being unzipped for replication, and the organism is unable to reproduce. In fact when the organism tries to replicate it dies. UV-C disinfection has been determined to be an effective procedure for inactivating dust mites, bacteria fungal spores and viruses. UV-C is the wavelength used in germicidal applications. It is well known that ultraviolet germicidal lamps can destroy any microorganism that comes in contact with its powerful UV-C rays. According to the EPA, "Every Home Has Dust Mites" Their waste products can become airborne and exposure to dust mite allergen can cause asthma in susceptible children. Dust mites are found in mattresses, pillows, carpets, upholstered furniture, bedcovers, clothes, stuffed toys, fabric and other fabric-covered items. Dust mites feed on decaying human skin. The average person sheds 5 to 10 pounds of skin every year. Extensive studies testing the levels of dust mite contamination in a typical mattress show the presence of millions of dust mites and their excrement.
